• The Millennials - Sagittarius, Capricorn and Aquarius type (part 3/7)

Uranus and Neptune were travelling together through three signs of the zodiac - starting from Sagittarius, through Capricorn into Aquarius. This suggests that the process of revolutionizing society goes through at least three basic stages; we can find clues in the characteristic of these three signs as to the purpose of the Millennials' consciousness journey.

The Millennial Generation is meant to contribute the awareness of the community to the society, but the journey of Uranus-Neptune through the signs shows that the Millennials are divided into groups that perceive reality in a different way and even differ in defining the development. The differences influence how the Millennials are perceived by others and also show the diversity of the generation itself. Just like Uranus and Neptune (the symbols of the Millennials) can have problems finding common ground, so each millennial group may not be able to see their mutual similarities and visions.

Here's my division of the Millennials. Now keep in mind that this is based on my observations and intuitive understanding.

Every motto used for the zodiac signs comes from Bill Tierney's book "All Around the Zodiac: Exploring Astrology's Twelve Signs"; these mottos are so well selected I just couldn't resist and had to quote them. I also recommend the book to everyone who wants to look at the signs from a holistic point of view. Reading this book is a pure pleasure!

Millennials of the Sagittarius type (1991-1988)

Motto "I believe we're all here to do some Good!"

Sagittarius In Sagittarius every idea and possibility reaches the top and maximum. This sign signifies an abundance of visions, ideas and is generously sharing them with anyone who needs it. People with emphasized Sagittarius always think in terms of gaining and expanding rather than losing and narrowing, thus many of them seem to attract sponsors, favourable circumstances and lucky breaks to their lives.

During Uranus-Neptune stay in Sagittarius, social changes (especially the entrance of technology into our everyday life) were welcomed by many people with joy and optimism, just like one welcomes the sun on a Saturday morning  :-). Why the optimism? Because thanks to these wonderful devices it was be possible to immerse oneself in the world's affairs and develop the human potential NOT on a local scale, but on a worldly one. In Sagittarius one notices the possibilities and the potential first! Finally, it was possible to rise above the conventional and familiar, towards a broader vision of the world. Now people, regardless of their culture and location, were be able e.g. to talk and exchange experiences.

The Millennials of the Sagittarius type absorbed this atmosphere of optimism, thus their social motivations are coloured by the desire to discover, learn and teach about the diversity of society and its traditions, beliefs (religious/spiritual ones) and values. Getting to know all these new people via technology is really seen as a warm-up before coming into contact with something broader i.e. the wealth and creativity of man.

It is said that Sagittarius symbolizes distant travels that can be understood literally (e.g. the dissemination of airplane flights), but also metaphorically. Long journey means reaching further state of consciousness and nothing inspires and expands the consciousness more than movement related to travels. From all the millennial groups, the "Sagitarrian ones" are most likely to explore the world and move out of their comfort zones. They do it all so that at the end of life, they can say with certainty they Have Lived and regret nothing.

For this millennial types, technology has become a tool allowing this generation to fulfill their great and important mission of spreading social awareness, seeking (and later teaching about) meaning of life and serving the people. Therefore, technology is determined not by what it offers (practically), but by what it can offer (and surely will in the future, right?).

It is this "wishful thinking" that is associated with the Millennials' perception of "artificiality in technology". Placing high hopes is not always enough for the wishes (regarding the real direction of technological development) to come true. It's common for Sagittarius to focus so much on vision that it  actually makes them disconnect from what is literally in front of their eyes - the most mundane issues. Uranus and Neptune in Sagittarius make it so that the Millennials subconsciously feel that the most important things are somewhere out of the reach of the human senses.

One of the main goals of the Millennials of the Sagittarius type is to help people realize the importance of the "long-distance" consciousness journeys for the society's development. The ability to communicate and inspire others with the ideas of the grand design of life will be what this Millennial group needs and has to offer. "The Sagittarian Millennials" will mostly show the good sides of either technology or their own ideas in order to inspire others to be brave about using their potential and reaching high. Sagittarius knows that in life those trivial squabbles and dilemmas of "Do I have to buy blue or black Porsche?" are not important. Life is about support and inspiring others ... and Living with every cell of the body.

Sagittarius promotes faith and wants to uplift others by showing the Truth it senses. Out of all other types, the "Sagittarian Millennials" will be the most focused on searching for the ultimate Truth, asking questions like "What's life about? What's the purpose?"

The Sagittarius sign is personally involved in its own personal search (it is a Fire sign), thus seeks to confirm its intuitive knowledge that may be (or not) close to the Truth. Because of that, these Millennials will have a tendency for preaching, firmly believing "Everyone can find the life's purpose - you just have to believe me!". But even if these Millennials are too focused on themselves (or are wrong), they still are generous and wish other beings well.

Millennials of the Capricorn type (1988-1998)

Motto "Life makes me wait - but I'm worth it!"

Capricorn In Capricorn the golden era of lofty dreams and grand ideas comes to an end; now it's time to get to actual work on all of those ideals. This sign thinks the life approach based on the potential and possibilities-of-the-future has too big of a price, as one cannot look at the future without standing firmly on the ground in the first place. Just like Sagittarius spoke of abundance, the Capricorn shifts our attention towards making use of only those visions that have a real chance to work out.

During the Uranus-Neptune stay in Capricorn, the social changes (especially the entrance of technology into our everyday life) were welcomed with coldness and reserve. The visions and promises of the predecessors, speaking of the "world without borders", seemed to diverge from the reality. The technology and the "global access" hasn't changed the core of human personality and instead of bringing something great for humankind, it turned out to be more limiting than expected. The change in everyday life has not improved its quality in a spiritual sense, but only on the material aspect; the ability to connect to others has been replaced by artificial contact. More technology meant more work and responsibilities, as the industry and economy opened up for the worldly consumer.

Millennials of the Capricorn type absorbed this atmosphere of distrust and skepticism, thus their personal stories are filled with disappointments of various types. The societies of that time were disappointed with the lofty ideals from the time when Uranus-Neptune went through Sagittarius and because of that, the Millennials born between 1988-1998 have this ingrained bitterness associated with failure (of not being able to bring the ideals into fruition). "Capricornian Millennials" still feel like Millennials and want to develop on the social level, but they are not the symbol of vast growth (this is the Sagittarius' role), but a symbol of waking up and looking and seeing the reality. Capricorn is aware of the importance of the great visions, although it can only work with the ideas that will prove worthy and valuable in the long run.

So what is the reality? Capricornian Millennials see it being based on traditions cultivated by older generations and authorities. The main issue (according to them) is that many people were not driven by the vision of "something broader and greater", thus the society did not make the necessarily changes to rise above. People sticked to their habits, trying to live their lives like they did before, even if the technology changed the rules of the game. Millennials of the Capricorn type strongly sense that tradition only limits the development that should have happened (at least in their mind). Because of that every Millennial faces the dilemma of whether to abandon the vision and pick safety or perhaps to invest in oneself in order to help the society? This choice is difficult, as tradition is something the Capricorn likes, it's a tangible structure that lasted for ages and had the support of the authorities. Now the "broader vision" of the society is mostly vague (Neptune) and unclear.

Capricorn as a zodiac sign doesn't like to waste time and energy in pursuing the unobtainable ideals. Compared to its peers from the Sagittarius sign, it can seem like a bitter taskmaster holding a whip in its hand. But Capricorn cares about the ideals, wishing them to be of real use and able to serve the society for years. Millennials of the Sagittarius type enjoy and search for appreciation, the Capricorn type searches not for fame and glory, but for the feeling that society appreciates its contribution and effort to spread the idea on a broader social development in the certain domains of life.

The goal of the Millennials of the Capricorn type is to attempt the climb on the hill, just like the mountain goat would do, in order to get to the top and prove everyone that they've gained the skills and know what they are talking about. And what better place is there to present one's mastery than the top of the mountain, visible by everyone? The climb is hard and time-consuming; it requires endurance and walking firmly on the ground - all of this makes these Millennials perceive their attempts of social development as dragging in time, sometimes even not paying off at all. Another trait of the "Capricornian Millennials" is the conviction that there's nothing free in life and everything true and best has to be attained through work, sweat and tears.

Life asks of the "Capricornian Millennials" to wait, teaching them not to engage in the social changes too fast and showing the importance of the ripening of one's character and skills. Because of that, the Millennials will gather experience and work on themselves until the time comes to show the world what they are capable of.

Millennials of the Aquarian type (1998-2003)

Motto "I'm a round peg in a square hole in a curved Universe!"

AquariusAquarius has no room for all those artificial and rigid social constructs; this sign bets on the dialog with the society and wants to contribute by promoting individuality as one of the highest human values. Aquarius will try to fight for the rights of everyone to be themselves. This sign wants people to listen to what their personality tells them and proceed accordingly instead of blindly relying on trends and values promoted by the system and the mainstream.

During the Uranus-Neptune stay in Aquarius, the social changes (especially the entrance of technology into our everyday life) have already happened and were fully integrated with the actual needs of the society. Sagittarius indicated grand ideals that were evaluated by Capricorn in order to give them a proper form. Now in Aquarius there's time to get out of the established rules and structures and start experimenting. No one has said that the previous rules were perfect, right? The will of the authorities to unify every vision (so that everyone could relate to it) may have caused the most important messages to be forgotten. Now it's time to give people the freedom and liberty so that they decide for themselves and pick what is valuable and how they want to live their lives.

Millennials of the Aquarius type absorbed this atmosphere of revolution and for them, technology is bread and butter. This type does not remember how life looked like without the facilities in the form of a cell phone or the Internet. In fact, at that time computers were such a common object that many Millennials will mostly search (and in their mind, experience) the "broader vision" through technology i.e. the Internet. There is a big difference between the Aquarian and Sagittarius/Capricorn types, as the later ones can still remember the old times, thus it's easier for them to notice when technology starts to fail. On the other hand, Sagittarius and Capricorn types and their past experiences could become an obstacle at fully utilizing the potential of technology for the common good, as in their minds some things have to be done the old-fashioned way. The Aquarian Millennials could become pioneers helping technology to support the society on ways it hasn't even imagined possible. The question is, will the technology develop or fool people?

The shift from Capricorn into Aquarius indicates a large change of the ways the society interacts. In Capricorn one approaches communication through technology quite skeptically and conservatively, but that's because one experienced the traditions so much. Now the Aquarian Millennials are more crazy, feeding on what is strange and exotic. Because of all those "unconventional traits" the Aquarius types can be perceived by the society as weirdos, thus being treated by the society less seriously. Fortunately the Aquarius type is characterized by certain objectivism that rarely allows their emotions (caused by the critique of others) to influence their vision that is not weird, but ahead of time.

There will be also the Aquarian Millennial types with a more conservative than progressive attitude (as the Aquarius sign is ruled not only by Uranus, but also Saturn). The more conservative types will still be the agents of progress, although they'll be more cautious in their actions; they will know how sudden changes can turn everything up-side down, causing only chaos.

In my opinion the Millennials of the Aquarian type will be the most polarized group within the Millennials. Some of them will be very open to the human's individuality, praising the freedom of choice. The other group will try to find the place for tradition in the modern world (and with that improving the world) or find a more progressive outlet for the traditional values.

Technology, including the Internet, enables indirect communication, which fits Aquarius that likes to have a lot of friends from different, strange and distant places. Aquarius has a tendency to maintain relations on an intellectual level, i.e. without paying much attention to emotions, as they make things wearisome, and this doesn't help with enjoying socializing. One of the main issues of the "Aquarian Millennials" will be placing great importance only on maintaining contacts through social media (technology), that makes the chance of "broader connection with another person" fade away without the direct interaction.

I think it's too early to describe in more details the development of the Millennials of the Aquarian type. At the time of writing this article (2017) many of them are on average 20 years old, only entering the social field with their skills. Even now we can observe that this group approaches differently the way one can work for a living, earn and behave. The Internet becomes not only the alternative reality, but another equivalent reality to the one we have in front of our eyes. For the older generations, these "Aquarians" will be aliens with their values originating from the Internet (that's where they experienced the cultural diversity starting from childhood) or inner convictions that life is about "something more".

Will the "Aquarian Millennials" become the slaves of the phone apps and touch pads or will they revolutionize the way the society understands itself and its role in the world? Or maybe both?

    Summary

community and union of MillennialsThe Uranus-Neptune cycle through Sagittarius, Capricorn and Aquarius shows that one of the main goals of the Millennial Generation is to present a vision of an open and diverse society that is not based on the dreams of some idealists, but is actually something possible to achieve.

On a more personal scale, the Millennials will have to go through the process of understanding their yearning for a broader and more meaningful life (Sagittarius) than what the past generations have passed down. Once one achieves that, there comes a time of change and shifting towards a way of living that will actually (physically) reflect all those grand ideas (Capricorn). Sometimes one will not be able to put into life every idea, but no one will take away the Millennials' achievements. Then there comes a time to get back to what one had established and consider whether the previous obstacles are really so impossible to jump through as previously thought. With time, the Millennials will develop the will to revolutionize their behavior using the methods previously unknown in order to live one's life according to one's essence (Aquarius).

And when others see it is possible to survive in the jungle of life while being oneself (an individual), they will feel inspired and perhaps try themselves to live a more fulfilling life.

    Technical stuff

The dates I've provided regarding the time-period of each millennial types are indicative. For accuracy I'll add that the mutual presence of Uranus and Neptune in Sagittarius lasted from 18th February 1981 till 19th January 1984 and from 24th June 1984 till 21th November 1984. You might ask, why then have I said the Millennials of the Sagittarius type are born within 1981-1988? Where does this hole in time come from and what about the last 4 years?

For the sake of simplicity, I have skipped the topic of the transitory Millennials who e.g. had Uranus and Neptune in two signs (this is a result on a brief situation on the sky, caused by the retrogradation). For example, people born from 20th January 1984 till 23th June 1984 belong to those transitory Millennials with Uranus in Sagittarius and Neptune in Capricorn.

The natal charts of such people are interpreted a bit differently. If there is be more people interested in this subject, write to me and I'll get back to the subject :-)

Still, I've classified the transitory Millennials to the Millennials of the Sagittarius type - that's what the intuition told me. It is a proper division? I don't know, everyone will have to judge for themselves. The Millennials of the Capricorn and Aquarius type also have transitory phases.

The list of transitory phases for the Sagittarius type:
    a) 22th November 1984 - 15th February 1988
    b) 28th May 1988 - 2nd December 1988

The mutual presence of Uranus and Neptune in Capricorn lasted from 16th February 1988 till 27th May 1988, from 3rd December 1988 till 1st April 1995, from 10th June 1995 till 12th January 1996.

The list of transitory phases for the Capricorn type:
    a) 2nd April 1995 - 9th June 1995
    b) 13th January 1996 - 29th January 1998

The mutual presence of Uranus and Neptune in Aquarius lasted from 30th January 1998 till 23th August 1998, from 29th November 1998 till 10th March 2003, from 16th September 2003 till 30th December 2003.

The list of transitory phases for the Aquarius type:
    a) 24th September 1998 - 28th November 1998
    b) 11th March 2003 - 15th September 2003

The Millennials of the Sagittarius type - general overview and interpretation

    Audrey Santo's natal chart

    Source: astrodatabank; http://www.astro.com/astro-databank/Santo,_Audrey

Audrey Marie Santo, also called Little Audrey, whom miracles were said to have happened after she suffered severe brain damage.

On 9th August 1987, 3-year old Audrey was playing with her older brother Stephen outside in the yard. At one point their mother noticed that Stephen came back to the house without his sister, so she went outside, starting to look for her daughter. She managed to find Audrey with her face submerged in the water. Audrey was taken to the hospital and admitted to the intense care unit where she lied in comma for about three weeks. The girl managed to survive, although suffered enough brain damage to become mute and paralyzed. The family decided to bring Audrey back home, where she was surrounded with Catholic statues and (very) religious mother and nurses.

Year after the accident, the mother took Audrey to Medjugorje, a place of frequent Catholic pilgrimages, where Virgin Mary was said to appear periodically to a few Catholics. The mother thought this journey would lead to her daughter's healing. While there, little Audrey was said to experience one of the revelations, reclaim part of her awareness and come to an agreement with Mary that she'll become a "victim soul", a person willingly taking on the suffering of others.

Since the return from Medjugorje, Audrey's bedroom became the place of miracles e.g. bleeding statues of Jesus Christ, various other religious icons soaking with blood and oil, blood spontaneously appearing on the consecrated communion wafers and (as the mother and nurses claim) the appearance of stigma on Audrey's hands. Miraculous healings were attributed to Audrey and people with various diseases or injuries claim to have been cured either by visiting Audrey's house or by intercessory prayer offered by others at Audrey's house.

Audrey died on 14th April 2007 from cardio-respiratory failure. The Catholic Church investigated the case of the girl's miracles and hasn't confirmed any of it. But that didn't stop anyone near Audrey to believe in her powers - these people were certain that their life's changed and health improvement after visiting Audrey.

    Time unknown

Before I go into looking at Audrey Santo from the Millennial Generation point of view, I'd like to stop for a while and analyze the most important events of the girl's life. When we look at the transits of the accident's day, we see a strong planetary influence on her natal 4th house that is associated e.g. with home and feelings of basic security. The transiting Saturn makes a conjunction to the IC and simultaneously transiting Uranus is conjunct the natal Jupiter, ruler of the 4th house. All of this points towards the experience of home and family (4th house) turning up-side down (Uranus), and as it turned out later, the religion (natal Jupiter) will be strongly connected to the girl's image, as people will come to see her and pray around her. Actually, Audrey's whole bedroom (4th house) became a place of a religious cult!

Unfortunately, Saturn symbolizes misfortunes and Audrey (through playing near her house) became completely grounded, becoming physically paralyzed and unable to communicate. Audrey survival after the accident could be attributed to the transiting Jupiter making a sextile her natal Moon, indicating support from others (especially family), a lot of luck and a certain inner strength and instinct (Moon) of survival.

The trip to Medjugorje would take place at the time transiting Saturn and Uranus (one of the Millennials' planets) would form a conjunction on the sky while simultaneously making a conjunction to Audrey's Sun and Neptune at 27-28 degree Sagittarius.

Saturn and Uranus transits could have played out in many different ways according to the meaning of the 4th house, not even slightly suggesting something so drastic. We can find additional clues as to the circumstances around the accident by looking at Audrey's progressions at that time (they create this background and basis for how the transits will be received).

During the accident, Audrey's progressive Moon entered the natal 12th house which points our interpretation towards the girl's retreat from life, preventing her or largely limiting her self-expression (progressive Moon in Leo). What's more interesting is the situation of the progressive Mercury that shortly after birth started to retrograde (i.e. seemingly starting to move backwards) creating an aspect with itself (natal Mercury). Now Mercury is the Ascendant's ruler, thus connecting to Audrey's self-expression and vitality. What happened was a start of a new chapter that affected the way her personality (ruler of the Ascendant) interacted and communicated (Mercury) with the environment. Once we add this information to the transits, we can see the possible devastating experiences.

Mercury also rules her natal 10th house, that's why the accident wasn't only a "physical trauma and danger to life", it was an experience that completely changed how Audrey was perceived by the society (10th house) to the rest of her life.
Audrey Santo, the Millennial of the Sagittarius type, expressed herself according to the more spiritual nature of Sagittarius. The girl spread the idea of a "broader life" through religion, giving strength and optimism to people. Naturally we cannot objectively judge whether her miracles actually took place, but it doesn't matter much. Being a Millennial is not measured by the level of individuality's potential (although Audrey was special, given her unique state), but by the way he/she affects the society. One cannot deny that hundreds of people have gone though Santo's family house in searching for consolation and healing. Some even say they experienced a miraculous healing.

Audrey was a symbol of faith and strength that has given people hope (Sagittarius) allowing them to experience something "greater", something out of this world (miracles). I'm positive many people strengthen their faith and established a broader awareness by being in contact with Audrey, or just by hearing about her story.

The Millennials are a symbol of a struggle between tradition and individuality and Audrey was an example of that, although in an indirect way. Audrey's mother has numerously entered into disputes with doctors and researchers (the traditional approach) whom expressed a high skepticism regarding Audrey's abilities. The mother stood her ground, believing in her daughter's contact with God. Even the Catholic Church wouldn't recognize the miracles, criticizing Audrey's mother for using an 18th century expression "victim soul" that is currently not used in the Church. That kind of Church's approach had to be a big blow to many believers, forcing them to think about the authorities' creditability.

Is the tradition actually in touch with the current age and unusual phenomena? Or maybe the girl was just used to deceive the mass of people to have them believe in God (artificial way of sprearing the "broader" ideals)? The Millennials will ask themselves these questions and also provoke others to do the same! More and more people search for purpose in life along with deeper spiritual experiences and the Millennials can offer that by living according to their ideals, cheating or becoming a tool of a fraud. People tend to gather around the Saggittarian energy looking for guidance; it will be up to those Millennials to stay grounded and not to become a victim of manipulation and delusions that could spread further than to themselves.

little girl with a bearAudrey Santo had an accident that prevented her from functioning in a traditional manner. Thanks to this event, Audrey and people around her could experience something revolutionizing, something that gave them purpose and faith in higher ideals. In my opinion, the Millennials can learn from Little Audrey that one doesn't need grand achievements to realize one's potential. Sometimes all it takes is just to be ... yourself, this unique personality that makes the world a better place.

I think Audrey's whole life was strongly tied to manifesting the potential of the Millennials. Not every Millennial will dedicate such a big portion of his/her life for this very potential; Audrey is special, as she had many personal elements of the horoscope (Sun, Moon and Jupiter) connected to the "millennial planets" - Uranus and Neptune. This group of Millennials, whether they want it or not, will be forced to express the message of their generation.

    Calvin Harris' natal chart

    Source: astrodatabank; http://www.astro.com/astro-databank/Harris,_Calvin

Adam Richard Wiles, commonly known under the pseudonym Calvin Harris, is a music producer, DJ, vocalist and a song-writer. Three times in a row (2013-2015) he was placed on the top of Forbes' list as the most financially successful DJ in the world. His debut album (I Created Disco) was published in 2007 and quickly conquered the British music charts. But the international carrier for Harris began after 2012 and his 3rd album 18 Months, reaching the 19th place on the American Billboard 200 (the rank of 200 most popular music albums in the USA, based on the quantity of sold albums). And each of his 8 singles reached the British TOP10 for the best singles.

After meeting such an inspirational example of a Millennial, now it's time to come to earth. The attention of some people will be focused on mundane matters like emotional dilemmas, issues with a prick-ass boss or ... relationships with people.

Audrey Santo was an example of the Millennials of the Sagittarius type with additional planets connecting (aspecting) the Uranus-Neptune; now Calvin Harris has Venus and Jupiter directly in aspect with Uranus and Neptune in the 5th house. Such a big energy concentration will surely prompt Harris to express the traits typical to the Millennials.

artistic inclinationsMillennials with the Uranus-Neptune in the 5th house will always strive to find the right medium that will help in the expression of what's in the soul within them. People with emphasized 5th house in general need some form of creative expression and every product of creativity needs to have a personal meaning to them. These people search for something they can identify with - this is the reason they invest time in various forms of art, just to find a reflection for their inner world.

Calvin Harris is an artist, who creates his music himself. While being a 14-year old, he started to record various demos (fragments of songs), working on his computer in his bedroom. Harris dedicated most of his free time to going though old cassettes in one of his local music shops. I'd like to point out Calvin Harris is an artist by profession. This means Calvin is a Millennial who decided to make a carrier of something he felt compelled the most to do (5th house and its power). He even decided to abandon studies, trying to work as a baker's assistant or arranging wares on the shelves in order to do what he does now. But ultimately Harris decided to focus completely (and only) on music.

The first success came after Harris decided to show his skills on the MySpace portal (it's like a Youtube with build-in social services; used to be quite popular), which proved to be an excellent advertisement tool (something that is important for the success of the 5th house). Thanks to MySpace, Harris' music could reach the wider Internet audience, especially the Millennials! Till this day Calvin Harris uses technology (Twitter) to communicate with his fans, sharing his thoughts or information regarding his albums and concerts.

Harris never imagined he'd be so successful in his own country, but this is what happened. Now the world renown is a way different matter, something he had to earn. The beginnings of his international carrier are seen in 2007 when Calvin was noticed by Kylie Minogue and together they have created many singles for her latest album. After that, Calvin collaborated with many artists, e.g. producing in 2011 the "We Found Love" single along Rihanna. And with that the doors to the world renown were open wide.

Uranus and Neptune in the 5th house indicate the creative expression of the Millennial will be unique or one of a kind. In Harris' case it was not about the art he dealt with, but his attitude towards it! Here's a quote from his music teacher from school1:
"I would say musically, he wasn't that much into performing, but more the creative and inventing side of things (...) He played bass guitar because he had to perform something for his final exams, but he specialized in composition."
The 5th house makes one have the desire to project one's character onto the world and often in a open and shameless manner. Now art for Calvin was not about going out to the public, but the process of creation and the ability to create something new (Uranus). The Uranus-Neptune influence often makes one attuned to very subtle stimuli, thus such Millennials have a hard time identifying with the society that (in most cases) doesn't feel/think the same way. Calvin with his 5th house has felt he identified with something that would be met with misunderstanding. Here's a quote from one of his old school friends2:
"I didn’t even know he was into music (...) He was hardly ever out like the rest of us."
Young Calvin was quite shy and secretive (Neptune) when it comes to showing off his talents/artistic aspirations, and when people finally discovered that, they were in shock (Uranus). Uranus and Neptune symbolize the "all or nothing" attitude and their placement in the 5th house made Calvin dedicate unusual amount of time for the pleasure that were his passions. Also, Calvin Harris always had his own definition of entertainment, not getting involved into something he didn't like (Uranus in the 5th house)2:
"He was always a very quiet guy, very reserved and very polite, and he was particularly interested in techno (...) When I say quiet I mean that he wouldn't be pushed forward, he wouldn't involve himself in things like school shows or concerts and things like that, whereas his brother and sister would be."
Uranus and Neptune may be so unorthodox that they manifest as difficulties in expressing oneself. Calvin Harris handled this situation by ... working under a pseudonym. Uranus-Neptune in the 5th house often manifests with people creating a separate image of themselves, a mask that allows the Millennials to fit in and meet the needs of the society. With the new pseudonym it doesn't matter that Adam Richard Wiles is a loner and feels more comfortable composing and working on the music from his house (Sun in the 6th house), Calvin Harris (Uranus-Neptune in the 5th house) can hit the stage instead.

Venus and Jupiter connected to Uranus-Neptune

Additional planets connected to Uranus-Neptune (making aspects to these two planets) make the Millennials bring something very distinctive and personal to the public domain. Calvin Harris has Venus in Sagittarius together with Uranus and Neptune, thus one way to express the Millennials' potential in his life are ... all kinds of relationships with people, including collaborations. There's also Jupiter in Sagittarius spicing up everything.

The most impactful periods of Harris' worldwide success are connected to collaborations with certain artists. In 2007 it was Kylie Minogue, helping Harris enter the World Scene and in 2011 the co-operation with Rihanna got Harris onto the top. Venus with Jupiter indicates the scale of collaborations (international artists) and a lot of luck; one has to be lucky to actually be noticed by someone so established in the industry. Jupiter is in Sagittarius, ruling the 9th house, and because of that the "international contact" theme will be a source of success for him.

The position of Venus also shows what constitutes to our life pleasures and what type of relax method we prefer. Venus with Uranus and Neptune tells of unconventional ways of relaxing, as one needs both the adrenaline/action (Uranus) and emotional retreat (Neptune). Calvin Harris entered the show business world with his music and we can imagine that the easiest and most accessible forms of "chilling out" (Venus) for the night life of a club DJ were ... drugs.

Calvin Harris is an abstinent, declaring in 2008 that he stopped drinking alcohol and taking drugs. Here's the quote3:
"The fact that people would pay to see a show and I'd be rubbish - it wasn't fair"
"Ever since I quit, I've worked every single day and loved it"
"I wasn't an alcoholic or anything like that, but it was clearly affecting what I do. That started to annoy me - because I've been trying to get where I am for 11 years. I realized: 'Why would I want to waste time drinking and going out to parties when I can sit in a studio and make music and have it come out and be released?' "
The Millennials with this particular planetary placement will have to think intensively about the ways they use their free time. Neptune alone in the 5h house suggests the need for escapism in order to numb oneself and escape from the issues of the daily grind. Now with Uranus in the picture as well, this feeling of escaping is even more dramatic and the need for retreat is harder to overcome, as only escapism seems to be an effective way to meet up with the fast pace of life (Uranus).

alcohol and sobering upWhatever you say about the Neptune's retreats, these "trips" always leave the person with his/her feelings, especially after that person sobers up and ends up again in the reality. Now Uranus is more impersonal, that's why the biggest danger of Uranus-Neptune is the escapism (Neptune) with discarding emotions (Uranus) - such people could not even sense they're going overboard. And Uranus anyway manifests as rebellion and going against the current, also opposing everyone that would like to help. By the way, Amy Whinehouse was a Millennial.

Calvin Harris is fortunate to be grounded thanks to the help of Sun in Capricorn. But that doesn't change the fact that he had to confront two powerful energies - the wild and wayward millennial Sagittarius and the pragmatic and common-sense Capricorn. The Millennials will always have to, at some point, relate parts of their character (symbolized by other emphasized signs in their charts) to the powerful energies of Uranus-Neptune.

Calvin Harris and his mental girlfriends

The 5th house has also a lot to do with relationships and these are a great source of self-worth experiences. When we can see that a special someone shows us affection, our sense of identity is confirmed and this is what the 5th house is all about. When Uranus-Neptune is tied to any part of the horoscope responsible for relationships (i.e. Moon, 7th house, Venus like with Calvin Harris), we're talking about contradictory needs. These groups of Millennials will experience their own inner Uranus-Neptune conflict (of individuality/freedom vs. merging with other beings) through other people that will act was mirrors for the Millennials' characters.

This group of Millennials bring drama to a whole new level. And creating drama is something the 5th house likes, as nothing shifts better the attention of other people like a proper spectacle in front of the other.

Here's a fragment of a radio interview, in which the speakers asked Calvin the question "What the one thing a woman must have, what can make a woman stand out for you?"4:
"I've definitely got a type. I think they need to be mental. I think because I'm not that mental and think I need a bit of that (...) I don't ask for that, I just stumble across it, it's not like I'm looking for someone like that, it's just so happens I meet few of them on my road (..) You meet them, as time passes you discover the real them - and they're mental."
sexual womanVenus is one of the elements in the natal charts of men that tells of the preferred woman type, especially based on the more aesthetic or sexual preferences. The connection between Venus and Uranus-Neptune, in the context of human relations, is difficult to handle. These people want to feel free and not tying themselves too much because that would mean the loss of liberty (Uranus). On the other hand, they want to totally and completely experience the other person, feeling there's a strong spiritual-like bond between them (Neptune). Unfortunately, I don't know what's going on inside Calvin Harris' heart, but this conflict played a big role during the times he wooed women (or they wooed him).

For a while Calvin Harris was in a relationship with a popular singer Rita Ora. The relationship didn't last, sometimes that's how it is, but what makes this story special is the drama. The reasons for the break-up were supposed to be the wooings of another singer (Justin Bieber) that Rita worked with on a song for a couple of months. Rita herself suggested the reason for the relationship's end was in "the mixing the social and professional field". Calvin supposedly valued privacy and did not like being in the spotlight and being Rita Ora's boyfriend didn't exactly help with that.

People with Uranus and Venus connection tend to flirt and behave in an ambiguous manner while not being emotionally involved. Those people tend to just not care. Now Neptune creates this feelings that one cannot function that way, as there's this inner longing for an emotional connection. With Neptune the borders of social interactions start to dissolve and one doesn't know what is the actual flirt and what is not. Calvin Harris related more to the Neptunian side of his character and in order to live out his "rebellious side" he needed a woman with a specific temperament. Harris likes to retreat (Neptune) but also attracts explosive and independent partners (Uranus) that break him out of this "standby state" of Neptune. Such women gave him an energy kick (Uranus) that made Calvin think about his inner conflict.

Another Harris' ex-girlfriend was Taylor Swift, again a very popular and independent singer with world renown. Taylor is known for being the "drama queen", basing most of her songs on her private life, including ex-boyfriends. She also has started numerous fights with other artists and every flick was duly noted (and exploited) by the press and gossip websites. A week has not passed since the break-up with Harris and she was already seen in the arms of her old ex-boyfriend.

The alleged reason for the break was supposed to be the song "This Is What You Came For" by Rihanna. Taylor worked together with Calvin Harris on this track, although under the pseudonym. Both of them agreed that they should keep their collaboration in secret. But when the song became a real hit, Taylor decided she wanted to be recognized for her contribution. At first, Harris remain untouched, that was the agreement they made. Later though he officially confirmed Taylor Swift's help in writing the song.

Here's a comment from Calvin Harris after the break-up with Taylor5:
"She [Taylor] controlled the media and this situation, I had no idea what was going on. So that kind of makes it worse from my perspective."
I'm writing about all this gossip to show how these inner struggles were largely (Sagittarius) playing out in the public arena. Venus with Uranus and Neptune in Sagittarius just needs the freedom, but many elements of Harris' horoscope (e.g. Saturn, ruler of the 7th house, in Scorpio) suggested he needed predictability. In Millennials' charts many needs with be battling each other for recognition, and the power of the "millennial energy" will increase the imbalance. Calvin Harris had to reconcile the strong sign of Scorpio (Mars, Pluto and Saturn) with Sagittarius.
