• The Millennials of the Capricorn type - introduction (part 5/7)

The potential symbolized by the Uranus-Neptune pair will be similar for each type of the Millennials as the basic nature of these planets remains the same, regardless of their placement in signs. But one cannot underestimate the impact of the zodiac signs to the overall expression of this planetary duo's potential. Let’s take Sagittarius and Capricorn as an example, the transition from one sign to another resembles the end of the day and the beginning of the night. The “global thinking” and horizon expanding Sagittarius, the everlasting optimist, suddenly changes into a grim and kind of boring Capricorn that dedicates most of its time to work. The time of exuberant growth and freedom ends so that the time for common-sense and self-limiting to the bare minimum can begin.

The Millennials of the Capricorn type, in comparison to the Sagittarius type, are more reserved when it comes to the expression of one’s skills. The Capricornian in-born cautiousness will be even more prevalent at work as they are not as eager to show off their skills in public as the Sagittarian type would do. On the plus side, the Capricorn types mature with time, becoming very self-confident. When the Capricornian Millennials pass the trials of patience and discipline in expressing their personality, they have a chance for a lasting success and leaving a mark in the society.

For me, Capricorn is a sign of mastery and the presence of Uranus and Neptune in this sign suggests the journey to mastery will not be deprived of unique challenges.

Capricorn, understood as a sign of the earth element, indicates putting into practice the ideas/ideals not without sacrifices, while Uranus-Neptune symbolize the changes, which are good for the individual in the context of a larger collective. What this signifies is that the mutual presence of Uranus and Neptune in Capricorn is felt like having to give up a lot of convenience (especially of the material nature, those giving security) so that one can benefit groups of people, even humankind, in an undetermined way.

The Capricorn stellium – the millennia generation of the super Capricorn

During the years 1988-1991, a special planetary cycle formed in the sky, consisting of three planets (Uranus, Neptune and Saturn) being simultaneously in the sign of Capricorn. Astrology defines several planets in the same sign (especially being conjuncted) as a stellium. There are several opinions regarding the number of planets a stellium should have in order to be even considered a stellium; some say there needs to be at least 3 planets, other say it’s 4 planets. Personally I think 3 planets is sufficient, thus I consider the placement of Saturn, Uranus and Neptune in Capricorn as the Capricorn stellium

In the 2nd part of the series I’ve written about the power in the natal chart i.e. the process of measuring the capability and energy of the desire that prompts the individual to satisfy those desires. The presence of Uranus and Neptune in one sign, along with other planets, makes the energy of these individuals particularly focused, which results in the intense experiences and issues in navigating through life’s challenges.

People with various planets aspecting Saturn, Uranus and Neptune configuration are extremely complex individuals with equally complex inner life and motivations. The power level of those Millennials born during the period between 1988-1991 has the potential to be even higher than in case of the Millennials of the Sagittarius type. The life of those “super Capricorns” feels like bouncing from one direction to another. I’ve also observed that even the people without an emphasis on the stellium in Capricorn (i.e. without aspects between the stellium and other important astrological points) will also manifest the typical traits for the “super Capricorns”, just in a less direct and dramatic way.

The configuration of these three planes is special for a couple of other reasons:

    - rarity; some cycles are counted in days, others in years. Saturn, Uranus and Neptune are considered to be one of the slowest moving planets, hence any of their meetings will be an infrequent phenomena. The last time Saturn, Uranus and Neptune were in the same sign (Sagittarius) at the end of the XV century. That’s hell of a long time!

    - the very nature of the planets; every planet of the trio seems to be a completely opposite to one another, often symbolizing contradictory features. Looking at Saturn, Uranus and Neptune together feels like trying to describe a sunny night. Here’s a list of the different life approaches these planets promote:

There are many more of these contradicting approaches. On one hand, these “super Capricorns” search for solid and familiar structures (Saturn), but as the routine enters, their hopes (Neptune) and in-born inventiveness (Uranus) tend to wither. Many people manage to separate work and the daily grind from the uniqueness of their personality, but the Millennials with the Capricorn stellium feel like these states blend together, thus their work and obligations will always impact their sense of independence, ability to be original or intuition and imagination.

This Millennial group searches for purpose in the world’s structures, but often doesn’t find it there, which leads to grief and fatigue with indifference being a tempting way to live one’s life. On one hand, the influence of Saturn’s energy makes them seek isolation and keep distance, on the other hand the influence of Uranus and Neptune’s energies encourages them to unite and be a part of the group. And even if the Millennials decide to act for the benefit of the group, another dilemma rises as the union of Uranus is about having the community of ideals and intellect and Neptune’s union is about emotional bonding and relating to people.

In the later parts of the series I’ll focus on the description of how the Capricorn stellium manifests as in my opinion many of the challenges of the stellium will apply to every Millennial of the Capricorn type.

Events of 1988-1991 and their impact on the life of the super Capricorns

In the first part of the series I’ve mentioned the astrological rule “As Above So Below”. The configuration and character of various planets had an influence on the economic/social/political events taking place during those years in the world, including the influence on the people born at that time, i.e. the Millennials.

But generations are not equal to one another. The presence of Saturn, Uranus and Neptune in Capricorn was felt and had influenced every person on the planet, though its actual manifestation was different depending on the part of the world (nation) one was born in. For that reason, a Millennial born in Africa goes through rather different experiences than his brother/sister from America or Europe, even though everyone shares the same millennial potential. And when we’re talking about Capricorn, the symbol of structures (including the state’s structures) and traditions, the political/social analysis of each nation seems to be mandatory for a really deep understanding of the Millennials! To show you what I mean, I’d like to present a short and concise description of the modern history.

The end of World War II established a new political-social-economic order in the world, especially in Europe. The post-war shape of the continent, especially its Central-Eastern part, was set at the Yalta-Postdam Conference that among other things has given the Soviet Union the “supremacy” over parts of Germany and many other countries including Poland.

At that time the two most dominant world forces were the USA and the USSR, two polar opposites striving to get as much influence over the “new Europe” as possible. It’s just that the USA was a symbol of a democratic system of state while the USSR symbolized the authoritarian communism. The Americans were supporters of capitalism and open market, praising the development prospects of their economic system while simultaneously condemning communism, identifying it with oppression and persecution of society. Meanwhile, the USSR supported total equality of all people in an economic, social and political sense (egalitarianism), accusing the US of greed and materialism. The tension between the two forces has transformed into the Cold War (aprox. 1947-1991), a conflict not carried out by direct military clashes, although both sides leaned towards proxy wars, i.e. fighting led by surrogates in outer territories.

As time went on, America put more and more of their resources into supplying and financing the army in order to support the surrogates in their battle against the USSR. In response, the USSR was forced to increase the spending on their army, but ultimately failed to catch up with the USA in this arms race, only to become a bankrupt. Since 1985, the USSR started to go through a series of state transformations commonly known as perestroika, which only gave fuel to the USSR’s revolutionary movements and accelerated the transformational processes in the countries under its rulership, including Poland. the country I’ll focus on from now on since I was born there.

The year 1989 is an official date set for the fall of communism in Poland, i.e. the country's exit from the influence of the Soviet Union.  This process meant a total revolution (and evolution) of understanding what the state is and how Poland functions on the local and global scale. The pioneers of the political changes was the so called Round Table, i.e. the negotiations between the authorities of the old system (supported by the USSR) and the solidarity/Catholic church opposition.

The establishment of the Round Table was „forced” by the rapidly increasing social protests and the pressure from the Solidarity Trade Union (pol. Solidarność). The Soviet government didn’t want to legalize this social initiative that Solidarity was, but the citizen’s riots were too big to just ignore the movement. Quoting Wikipedia:
"The scale of the victory of the Solidarity opposition and the scale of the communists’ defeat [...] lead to a completely new political situation (...)"
It is said that the events taking place in Poland initiated the so called Autumn of the Nations. In response to progressive political changes, other countries such as Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Romania and Bulgaria decided to move away from the communist system.

What does everything of this have to do with the Millennials of the Capricorn stellium? These events made the social background that is more or less present in the Millennials’ subconsciousness. Can you see the difference between the experience of a voluntary revolution associated with taking direct actions towards independence (like in Poland) and the forced revolution as the USSR falls and there’s no return to the old ways (like in Afghanistan)?

One aspect of Capricorn's stellium is the conscious activity leading to revolutionize a restrictive situation, now the nature of the second aspect is about the pressure to fit into something else, because it is no longer possible to find oneself in the old circumstances, whether one likes it or not.

The connection of Saturn with Uranus and Neptune on the sky during the years 1988-1991 equaled a completely new hand of cards (Uranus) in terms of structure and state’s backbone (Saturn) as many nations decided to shift from one system into another. In Poland’s case, the old authorities started to back off from the role of the employer (from now on, people are on their own); there is no longer any central control over the production, distribution and the prices of many goods. The bonds with the old system start to dissolve (Neptune) … or do they? The benefit of the “old” communist system was that the responsibility for the condition of the state and its citizens was on the state that had the control and the tools to do so. Every failure, especially of the personal nature, could have been easily justified by the external factors. But after breaking free, the responsibility landed in the people’s hands and it is their decisions and choices that influence e.g. their material wealth. What will the people choose, taking or throwing away the weight of the responsibility (Saturn)? Radical attachment to the tradition or the radical expression of their individuality (Uranus)? Or perhaps protection of their particular interests or the sacrifice of a portion of their life to support others (Neptune)?

One can say the dilemmas and challenges (regarding the changes of structure) of the society of that time, the Millennials with the Capricorn stellium will live out … in their inner world. We can replace the word structure with other similar expressions e.g. career prospects, authorities or the backbone of the personality. The Millennials with the stellium in Capricorn will be internally in the state of revolution of their “personality system” (Saturn). Something “traditional, old” will always appear on their road, which they’ll have to respond to. And in my opinion, the ultimate lesson of the generation of the Millennials with Capricorn stellium is to learn how to take responsibility for one’s fate, no matter how intense the changes and longings to depend on the external factors are. The personal features of the Millennials’ natal charts will naturally modify the lessons for the particular individual.

And now a perspective of a different nation, the Americans, who didn’t have to go through the change of the state’s policy. How can the American Millennials experience the stellium in Capricorn?

The years 1988-1991 for the American society were about the ending of the Cold War, a period considered by many to be full of constant fear of total war with the USSR, including the usage of nuclear weapons. Anxiety was present in the minds of the whole society, even dictating the direction of the culture and art of that time (plenty of movies with espionage/patriotism theme). The presence of “bad communist” in the American social life gave power and galvanized the public support for the initiatives involving the “fighting and keeping the enemy at bay”. This in return caused the nation to slowly close itself for the foreign, non local (Saturn) people, the potential enemies.

Until one day the threat of USSR disappeared (along with the communism) and the Americans had to adapt to the new situation (Uranus, Neptune), now not able to blame their issues and failures on the “evil foreigners sabotaging everything”. The old ways of thinking and the long-term development directions (Saturn) had to be updated and adapted to the changing world (Uranus). And the world was entering the era of globalization and a free exchange of thoughts and ideas on the Internet. How many people were able to leave the past and old conditionings (Saturn) and open themselves to the world (Uranus, Neptune)?

The main theme of the Millennials’ challenges will always stay the same regardless of the nationality, although their origin and the political situation of the nation they were born in will show which experiences in particular are emphasized.

The maturation and entrance into the adulthood of the Millennials with the Capricorn stellium

Americans born between the early 80' and the mid 90', thus the American Millennials with the Capricorn stellium, belong to the demographic peak period (the baby boomers generation). In the case of Poland, the baby boom period occurred in the 80's and mainly concerns the Millennials of the Sagittarius type, but I think it’s worthwhile to analyze the peak demographic situation in terms of the Millennials in general.

The demographic peak period is a short-term period of increased numbers of births, often appearing after not favourable events/circumstances for procreation e.g. after war. What does the demography tell about the Millennials? For example, more children indicate the need to build more kindergartens/school or adapt the already existing facilities to the current needs of the society. More people means a bigger population, which puts to a test the state’s system, especially its employment policies.

It so happened that the birth years of these Millennials coincided with great breakthroughs and the revolution of the state’s system AND a huge leap of fertility that couldn’t be ignored. The demographic peak indicates the need to re-build the structures of the state (Saturn) and addressing very mundane issues e.g. curricula, infrastructure etc. The main problem was that with the “new (technological) reality” forming, it was impossible to derive the values and models of procedure from the past and old experiences. For example Poland, a nation going through the change of the state’s policy, couldn’t rely on the old communist system and its values.

The Millennials with the Capricorn stellium experience a certain lack of support from the state (Saturn and Uranus). The structure that was supposed to be a guarantee of continuity and security, is not solid and the everyday reality has no reference points that would allow the Millennials to develop their unique talents. Many Millennials of the Capricorn type will be disappointed by what the structure and tradition has to offer, especially when the state turned out to not know how to “utilize” the millennial youth. The state’s structure is the most obvious, though outer, role model for their life goals. The fact that the state doesn't provide any perspective for the future, affects the Millennials of the Capricorn very personally.

People with Saturn in Capricorn are generally eager to hear the insights from the older (from their point of view, wiser) people who “have figured out life”. But the presence of Uranus and Neptune in Capricorn made the Millennial youth realize the failure of the old, which was too firmly rooted in a different and distant reality to be role-models.

As an example another situation from the Polish reality, which will probably feel familiar to many of you. Many older generations viewed education (especially the higher one) as a tool opening the door to success. In the past, a person graduating from the university was a rare sight and the studies were a symbol of prestige, a ticket to a better world and a cause worth of praising. But with Saturn’s energy strongly tied to the Millennials potentials, this generation will be the one doing the verifications and confronting the society’s common believes with the reality. For many Millennials of the Capricorn type the studies have little to no value unless either the field of the studies guarantees the work or the education is high-end. It is not that the education by itself will give one the job or open the career path even though one has invested a lot of time (counted in years) for the learning purposes.

The problematic expression of Saturn-Uranus connection appears in the form of the outdated traditional models with little or no ties to the reality. The message of Saturn-Uranus for the Millennials is that to build something one needs to make the effort into creating new concepts (Uranus) behind “achieving something in life” (Saturn) by finding out what does it mean to achieve something or what makes someone achieve something. Because of the demographic peak, Poland had to deal with the influx of people and the result was the creation of many private colleges and a multitude of fields of studies as more people meant making a bigger profit. The quantity (of fields of education) had not always translated into quality, what many Millennials experienced themselves when being forced to refer to the time they lost due to the “useless education”. And wasting one’s time and work is hard to swallow for Capricorns.

The specifics of the labor market and the conviction that the qualified worker matters the most (the way Capricorn thinks) made it so the most rational strategy (according to the Millennials) was to stay in the educational system, thus delaying the time this generation enters the labor market. It’s just that more often than not, the education facilities were not prepared and ultimately became the waiting rooms for the Millennials. And the problem regarding the late entrance to the labor market indicates delaying the long waited moment of achieving life stability, e.g. leaving parents, starting a family, building a home. Sometimes it was the opposite e.g. the responsibilities regarding the family/baby delayed the education.

In America, many Millennials struggle with debts as a result of the student loans, them not being able to take certain career choices (or shifts!) as their financial situation doesn’t favour boldness.

Regardless of the scenario, there’s only one leading theme – delays, disappointments and the need to make hard and drastic (Uranus) decisions about one’s life.

One of the drawbacks of Saturn in Capricorn is acting with a goal imposed by others or doing things out of a habit. And if the Millennials would be only about Saturn in Capricorn, the most important trait to develop would be the consequence and awareness in building a life true to one’s personality and ambitions. Unfortunately, many Millennials have problems in tapping to their motivation drive (especially when it comes to those long-term goals and the aspects of life they care for the most), feeling overwhelmed by the situations and their helplessness (Neptune). Some of them will decide to hide in their trenches, hoping their beliefs (Neptune) will come true as if life could magically change. Their thinking patterns will present every possible scenario that involves not consciously acknowledging the failure of their vision of the future and the failure of the conventional paths.

    The past-future conflict

The Millennials of the Capricorn type, especially those with the Capricorn stellium, are the last generation remembering how „it was like to live before” the mass technological progress (Uranus). It is this remembrance and sentiment (Neptune) of the peaceful and slower life (Capricorn) that collides with the reality present before their eyes, full of people living in a constant rush. The Sagittarius type also has the memory of the past, although these particular Millennials will only examine the past and tradition as their main attention leans towards the future, possibilities of development and self-improvement (Sagittarius and the Fire element), contrary to the Capricorn types and their attention strictly revolving around the past-future axis.

The Millennials of the Aquarius type will have the comfort of being born and growing up in a world of changes already established. For them, the technology is something indisputable and natural.

In practice, Millennials with the Capricorn stellium remember their childhood without or with highly restricted access to the Internet. One of the Saturn-Uranus-Neptune meanings in the charts of the young Millennials was the “divided reality”:

Even the most diverse life always followed a certain pattern (Saturn) that with time engraved in their subconsciousness. Life was split into parts, like some sort of time bubbles (Neptune), e.g. there was time to go to school and it was a bubble isolated from the rest of their life. Then there was time to go back home and play outside, which was another bubble. Sometimes there was a special TV show the young Millennials wanted to watch, but in order to do so they had to go back home early as there were no repetitions (no VODs) or maybe waking up early in the weekend. In a nutshell, they had to wait and learn patience or even start planning their lives (Saturn) which further enhanced their experience of “divided reality” meaning school-home-TV-other. At these moments of the Millennials’ lives, a tendency to structure their reality and the need to have a certain order starts to form, which later will evolve into more refined forms and needs associated with control and security in life. Sometimes they will desire to (re)create and nourish their bubbles that used to be so comforting and predictable.

As time passed by, the revolution of the Internet came and brought a wide access (Uranus, Neptune) to almost everything. Suddenly one didn’t have to depend on books from the library to learn something useful. Earlier inaccessible favourite shows, music or interesting movies were also on the net, all it took was few clicks without the need to patiently wait near the TV set. With time, the Millennials’ bubble-realities were not so closed and separated from one another like in the past. The Internet erased the borders between those bubbles (Saturn and Uranus), thus everything became connected. Even a new expression real life has been formed, indicating  the contrast between the tangible and the online world

When you think about it, the need to distinguish these two expressions is the Capricorn’s (including the Saturn’s) attempt to somehow sort and give form to the reality. And for the Millennials, the online world seems to be more real than real life.

The Millennials with the Capricorn stellium feel comfortable in an environment that resembles their past or those bubble-realities that used to give security and feeling of continuity. But with time their own, private life spheres transformed into something global, something distant from a strictly private sphere. In the Millennials’ inner world, there’s still this longing after a simpler and more private world, a state before the big world entered their life. In this regard, the Millennials have a talent for searching and creating spheres free from the wide (and destructive) influence of the world (Uranus, Neptune). On the other hand, being too focused on the bubble-realities effectively distances them from uniting with the society in a total manner, at least until they consciously realize their need to separate from life through the bubbles (Saturn). The word “consciously” is crucial here as many people with the Uranus-Neptune emphasis will naturally and spontaneously connect with people or the intuitive knowledge, but the Saturn’s presence in the stellium means the Millennials will have to consciously understand their nature and make their intuition/skills a tool of awareness. To do so, they will have to know e.g. when creating barriers is healthy and when it’s a mean of separating from life (Saturn).

To be honest, this whole process of gaining awareness applies to every human as everyone has Saturn, Uranus and Neptune in their charts, but the Millennials (at the early age) felt “forced” to confront their own subconsciousness, hence their process of maturing (Saturn) goes faster and more rapidly (Uranus) than in case of the rest of the society. Not to mention the process seems to be overwhelming, full of idealization and disappointments (Neptune).

And the future? The future is very idealistic in nature and the gap between the past and the future makes it so many Millennials feel like they are stuck in life (Neptune). On top of that, not every Millennial has the esoteric knowledge or is interested in spirituality, thus going through the internal conflicts (without the support of traditions) is very difficult. Many will be tempted to pick the tradition and the beaten paths as doing so will make their lives more tolerable, and the known evil is better than an unknown chance.

This “idealistic future”, the Millennials are after, is largely undetermined. How many of them will pick the uncertain future with uncertain benefits (Uranus, Neptune)? Time will tell.

    Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salvador_Sobral; birth hour unknown

Salvador Sobral is a Portuguese singer who got world-wide fame by winning the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest and with what a style; his performance was the highest rated one in the entire history of the competition, winning the judges’ and the viewer’s votes. His victory signified Portugal’s first win throughout the entire 53 years of the competition.

Sobral is a Millennial with the stellium in Capricorn consisting of Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Sun, Moon and Mercury. Unfortunately, the lack of the birth hour makes it impossible to determine the house placement of the stellium, hence I cannot give a detailed description of his challenges.

For everyone that didn’t see his performance, I highly recommend to watch this 3 minute video to see the energy of the Capricorn stellium in action. The contest song was composed and written by his sister Luisa Sobral, by the way also a Millennial (born in 1987 with Saturn and Uranus in Sagittarius and Neptune in Capricorn).

Eurovision is commonly known to be a contest reflecting the mainstream current of the modern music – more entertainment than meaning. And suddenly there’s this Sobral guy going on the stage with his quiet and restrained song "Amar pelos dois" talking about mutual love. It would seem that such a strong Capricorn would bet on seriousness, but instead we’ve seen Sobral in an oversized jacket, full of sensitivity and simply … singing. For the context, I’ll add that during one of the Eurovision’s performances, the main vocalist was accompanied by a breakdancing gorilla or by the backup dancer who went up on a ladder with his horse mask gracing the audience in a majestic pose. And a stunt being a cherry on the top, a man wrapped up in a national flag (of one of the countries) got to the stage during the performance only to take his pants off and show the audience his butt (shortly afterwards he was dragged off the stage by several bodyguards). Fun stuff.

    A fragment of Sobral’s victory speech1:
“We live in a world of disposable music; fast food music without any content. I think this could be a victory for music with people who make music that actually means something (…) Music is not fireworks; music is feeling. So let’s try to change this and bring music back.”
For Sobral, the quality of music is an experience connected to the Capricorn stellium. His Saturn in Capricorn manifests by facing the “traditional” (as in common in society) trend in music, i.e. musical productions without any depth. Many people could have just got used to how the modern music and its structure looks like (Saturn), but the Millennials see and feel deeper no matter the restrictions. Sobral’s statement calling for “the return of the music” suggests the music (in his understanding) has turned its course towards something it is not. This is often a scenario with a strong influence of Saturn that encourages us to find the true meaning of things (music or our whole personality) by confronting us with what we are NOT.

It’s just that Sobral’s statement has been received as an attack to the “pop music”. Many people felt offended that some guy criticises their preferred music style; one could also find voices/comments telling that there is a lot of space for every type of music, including the one focused on entertainment and spectacle.
One’s natal chart could have many reasons explaining such reactions of the society, but to me the quality of the social feedback is the effect of Sobral’s Moon aspecting the stellium

The Moon symbolizes the way the individual projects oneself and is perceived by others when doing so. People with the Moon aspecting to the stellium are seen as “peculiar beings” (Uranus) so much out-of-this-earth that impossible to define (Neptune). The Moon in stressful connections (and I consider conjunctions with the stellium to be one) indicates one’s expression of emotions that is not positively received by others. In Sobral’s case, it was about misunderstanding his multi-dimensional sensitivity (Neptune), which led to critical comments.

In my opinion, Salvador stands against the trend of music he considered degrading (Saturn) its true potential and artistic wealth (Neptune and Uranus). But who knows if those unfavourable comments aren't a way for him to get it touch with his inner world and realize that behind even the most “mundane musical performances” there’s effort and hard work worth respecting.

People with the Moon aspects to the stellium immensely want to feel comfortable with oneself, but their life lesson is not to depend on the appreciation and favour of others when building a firm self-image. Sometimes a tempting strategy (within all this disapproval) could be to search for a healthy self-image only in one’s “uncommonness”, explaining the society’s misunderstanding by the “incredible to comprehend sensitivity”. But this approach moves the Millennials away from feeling a part of the community and this is what Uranus and Neptune are about. How can one feel human when one senses he/she is on a different level than everyone else? This group of Millennials with Moon aspecting the stellium will learn how to come down to earth (Saturn)  and gain self-confidence by allowing oneself to be … someone average, i.e. equal to everyone.

    Discipline vs. freedom

Here’s a fragment of Sobral’s interview, in which he talks about his rehearsals before the finals2:
“First time it was great, the second time I think we were rehearsing too much. I’m from the jazz school that you improvise. We rehearsed four times for one song? For me it’s crazy. So that’s why this last time I was just flying because I said I need to do something different or I’ll go crazy. But in the show I’ll respect the melody because my sister wants to…”

Sobral is an example of why the “millennial Capricorns” are not like the textbooks Capricorns. A typical Capricorn would dedicate much of its time to preparations, treating its performance in the finals very seriously, especially after knowing how many career opportunities this victory could bring. But the presence of Uranus and Neptune in Capricorn (both planets stay away from restrictions) made it so that the improvisation (or the act of doing something differently) was the preferred way of Sobral’s artistic expression. Now he could have got his way and avoided the boring preparation routine at all costs, but he respected (Saturn) the hard work his sister did and was able to appreciate the value of discipline and professional preparations.

Many Millennials will hold the grudge against the traditions and structures because of their Saturn-based experiences, thus totally discarding this aspect in their lives. But one of the best uses of Saturn with Uranus and Neptune is recognizing that repetitiveness has its role and purpose even in projects requiring spontaneity and independence. In such cases, Saturn is not limiting one’s personal style, but is reinforcing it.

    The humanitarian awareness and politics

At one of the Eurovision Song Contest’s semi-finals conference, Sobral wore a shirt with a logo “S.O.S Refugees). When asked about this, he replied3:
"If I'm here and I have European exposure, the least thing I can do is a humanitarian message (…) People come to Europe in plastic boats and are being asked to show their birth certificates in order to enter a country. These people are not immigrants, they're refugees running from death. Make no mistake. There is so much bureaucratic stuff happening in the refugee camps in Greece, Turkey and Italy and we should help create legal and safe pathways from these countries to their destiny countries"
The desire to propagate the idea of humanitarian aid is indicated by Uranus aspecting the natal Sun (conjunction) and the North Node placement in Aquarius (the descriptions of the Node’s will appear in the next part of the series). But what’s the most important in this whole matter is that few days after his conference, Sobral was banned from publicly wearing the shirt with its “political message” as it was breaking the rules of the Contest. In his mind though, the shirt was meant to send not a political message ,but a humanitarian one.

Sobral makes a distinctive line between actions of a political and humanitarian nature. In my opinion, the need to do so lies in the symbolic meaning of Saturn (politics) and Uranus with Neptune (concern for the collective) and their struggles to find common grounds. Sobral (as a Millennial) takes the Uranus/Neptune side of the stellium and is experiencing the restrictive side of Saturn, which is the bureaucracy designed to push serious issues aside and not actually helping others. His intentions of finding practical ways of supporting people are noble and of the higher meanings of Saturn, yet he’s facing many obstacles and critique from people and authorities (Saturn) by expressing his ideals (Uranus/Neptune).

Every Millennial, at some point, will face opposition when trying to express their convictions. The role of Saturn in lives of the Millennials with the Capricorn stellium is to help them learn how to express their uniqueness with all those circumstances working against them. Sometimes their goals are too lofty, sometimes they entangle themselves in things they actually didn’t want to do e.g. routines/diets for the perfect body and then find themselves with less confidence than before or realizing they actually like their bodies; they may be overworking towards a promotion so that they could earn more money and develop their hobbies, but it turns out the new position means they have no free time whatsoever. Saturn and the experiences of limitation are there to teach them what is valuable and comes from the heart.
