Working with intuition - on examples
I've decided to go for certain extreme examples to show the intuition of people with Moon-Saturn aspects. picking the strongest possible aspect (Moon conjunct Saturn) and something more than plain intuition - medium abilities.
Meet Allison DuBois - medium, profiler assisting US-state law enforcers, author of books describing her contact with the dead. Even a TV show Medium (2005-2011) was created, basing on DuBois' life experiences.
Meet Allison DuBois - medium, profiler assisting US-state law enforcers, author of books describing her contact with the dead. Even a TV show Medium (2005-2011) was created, basing on DuBois' life experiences.
DuBois has not only Moon conjunct Saturn (8th house), but also in the Earth sign (Taurus), which doesn't immediately strike as a mystical one. But Allison is a splendid example of a practical work (Earth element) with the intuition. The physical manifestation of these two planets went accordingly to the common meanings of the 8th house - focus on death (in this case it's communication with the dead), transformation and healing process.
Moon in 8th house is about powerful sensations that can seem intense, in fact too intense to figure them out, not to mention any form of control. Allison DuBois claims she has been aware of her abilities at the age of 6 (horoscope in a moment) - it is surprising a young child was able to handle such experiences. This feat proves Allison's composure (Taurus), practical and calm approach to her feelings. We can see the Taurus influence in Allison's stance towards her abilities; she says physically writing down her premonitions helps her a lot to sort everything and simultaneously relieves the mind.
The Moon-Saturn conjunction didn't block DuBois' access to her subconsciousness or deeper perception. In fact, this aspect has given her the ability to use her intuition with awareness and later in the future, was a foundation for her carrier. A carrier that was about communicating one's inner premonitions, sensations (Moon, the ruler of MC).
Allisun DuBois used her talents well, allowed herself to advertise, come out with her private life, experiences to the public (which isn't something obvious for Moon-Saturnians) and simultaneously keeping her own, untouchable private space.
Intuition
The quality of work with our intuition depends on the natural way we contact our subconsciousness (Moon). But this is only one factor that decides how we work with any premonitions. Much depends on the type of intuition that's the most natural for us.
Previously I've written about the classical 'intuition' being one of the ways we perceive the world. The we-world interaction is related to how we acquire and process information and that will be shown by the 3rd house (along with the opposite 9th house) and Mercury. 1st house is also taken into account because it is responsible for the general contact of our personality with the world.
Allison DuBois has Jupiter in her 3rd house, Jupiter being the ruler of the house as well. This is a strong energy with the potential to: 'absorb' bigger amounts of stimulus, experience the world from a larger perspective, communicate in a broader way; in fact communicating with more than just one world - something Allison proved to being able to do. DuBois is also trying to be very inspirational (again Jupiter) in her communication, explaining the dead don't disappear forever and support us at all times, even though we may not see them.
House of the natal Jupiter shows where we receive things for free, the area of success and abundance. DuBois is an author of four books (for the year 2016), meets with many groups of people - it is the communication (3rd house) and publishing (Sagittarius) that helped Allison achieve notoriety on a nation-wide scale (Sagittarius always aims for the 'highest', looking to have the most broad influence possible).
One of Jupiter in Sagittarius' problem (or generally Jupiter's) is righteousness, strong faith in oneself that is not backed up with experience, reality. Moon conjunct Saturn allowed DuBois to stay grounded and find herself in the society with the abilities she has. DuBois' natal chart has Jupiter quincunx the Moon-Saturn. Now quincunx is about seemingly small obstacles (like little rocks in our shoes) that can be very troublesome. Allison - as a medium - had to learn the hard way how to handle the unfavourable opinions of sceptics, accusing her of fraud or preying on the naivety of others. Such opinions had to be extremely harmful to someone who is sure about her talents (the trust and confidence of Moon in Taurus), who wants to help others with her knowledge (Sagittarius). If DuBois wanted to use the full potential of her talents, she had to learn how to deal with people's negativity (Moon-Saturn).
The configuration of Jupiter and Moon-Saturn is like a machine - creates a structure. But every device needs energy, fuel to keep on going. The fuel in DuBois' natal chart is a T-square of Uranus-Mars-Mercury with Mercury being on the cusp. It is also a cardinal T-square (so it deals with action, intense energy usage) on the AC-DC, MC-IC axis of the horoscope (!) - this is such a rich-with-energy configuration that it's ridiculous.
Mercury at the cusp of the T-square is about the mind that must act and 'conduct' a lot information, stimulus. People with such planetary figures learn fast and are quick-witted. The presence of Uranus and Mars only adds to the incredible mental activity that surpasses any limitations (Uranus). The presence of Uranus and Mars alongside Mercury also points towards a very nervous attitude - such a person is perceived as intense (almost exhausting) intellectually, especially during conversations.
To discharge the problematic energy of a T-square, one has to look at the sign and house opposite to the planet on the T-square's cusp. With DuBois's chart, we look at Mercury and the opposing 10th house in Cancer. Picking and focusing on proper carrier path (that allows communication) is a must, otherwise the tension would be unbearable. Cancer on MC tells of a need to be around people in general, especially families or close to emotional bonds, but not without a certain distance (Mercury in Capricorn). Entrepreneurship is another (10th house's) way to channel the vast amounts of mental energy.
Allison's incredibly dynamic T-square is, in my opinion, the strongest indicator of her abilities. From my experience a strong intuition is mixture of both easy and dynamic aspects. It is the dynamics, need for action, handling one's frustrations that forces a person to search for alternative ways of solving one's problems. Such a search often points towards unconventional directions as well.
Other interesting planetary positions I haven't mentioned (in random order)
- Sun-Pluto trine, connection the 'water' houses 4 and 12 !
- Venus (AC ruler) square Neptune
- Uranus conjunct AC
Moon and Saturn aspects is about giving one the permission to be wrong, a right to search for oneself and find comfort in self, no matter what others think of you. Allison knows that the only thing that matters for self-acceptance is what we do (how we act on the physical plane). Moon and Saturn challenges us to find the greatness of our inner world.
First are the progressions:
- progressive Mercury making a partile trine to natal Moon
- progressive Jupiter making a partile quincunx to natal Moon
- progressive Moon square the natal Moon-Saturn
- progressive Venus (Ascendant ruler) making a partile trine to natal Medium Coeli
Then we have transits: (not a solar return)
- Pluto conjuncts Ascendant (second half of 1977 - first half 1979)
- Saturn squares natal Moon-Saturn (end of 1977 - mid 1978)
- Neptune enters the 3rd house
- Jupiter opposite natal Jupiter in the 9th house
Delving into each single transit or progression would be too much for a simple blog note. I'd like to point out that the years 1977-1979 (when DuBois was 5-7) were very intense, bringing much change and the vast majority of these changes had something to do with Allison's natal Moon or T-square.
Let's get down to earth. Psychic abilities are rare, many people (in our case people with Moon-Saturn aspects) won't have the chance to experience something like this. Nonetheless, the intuition will always be present - a good example of that is the actress, artist - Drew Barrymore.
One of Barrymore's close friends, and a partner on screen, is the actor Adam Sandler. Together they have produced and played in three movies ('The Wedding Singer', '50 First Dates', 'Blended'), each of them being a big financial success. The ticket income from all three movies was 446 millions of US dollars.
There's an interesting story behind Barrymore and Sandler's meeting - it was at a local cafe in Hollywood; Barrymore was in her early twenties with jet-black hair, wearing a long leopard coat, pink plastic high heels and grocery-store sunglasses. Sandler was wearing cargo shorts, a T-shirt and a baseball cap. Quoting Barrymore:

Drew Barrymore felt with all her heart, that together with Sandler they can do something big and meaningful. There was a similar feeling when it came down to their second movie:

Drew Barrymore's intuition hasn't failed her, thanks to it she is working with someone she considers her 'professional soul mate'. She also got to earn a lot of money. Moon-Saturn conjunction in Cancer didn't block Drew's subconsciousness, and the intuition itself manifested as knowledge 'who to work with, with who can I earn money' (Moon-Saturn in the 2nd house). One cannot deny the influence of Jupiter (trine the Moon) on the whole matter, making it a big success.

I have to be honest, Moon-Saturn aspects are not a rose garden - every unpleasant description doesn't appear from nowhere. The issues associated with these aspects, the blockages, are very real. But it doesn't have to be this way and the first step towards 'unblocking' is to turn one's attention to the priority and balance of the intuitive-pragmatic perception. The problem of Moon-Saturnian is about picking the pragmatic perception in order to completely avoid contacting the inner world and its feelings - the problem lies in thinking one 'has to pick', while both perceptions can be used together, simultaneously.
In my opinion one has to be cautious with expressions like 'Saturn contacting the Moon blocks the subconsciousness' because it's easy for our ego to meddle into our thinking, imposing the definition of an inner life - what it means to be blocked and what it means to not be blocked. The Moon, in every sign, in various aspects to other planets, has its own idea for an inner life. It doesn't change the fact that the emotional spontaneity (natural characteristic of the Moon) is inhibited and this something people with the Moon-Saturn aspects need to understand, learn how to recognize and admit to themselves that they like to have contact with their emotions. No matter how big/small it is.
The reward for the necessarily efforts won't be temporary and random premonitions, but an elaborate intuition we know where/when/how to use.

Moon conjunct Saturn for Allison DuBois
This is Allison's answer to the question 'How can I learn about my premonitions and develop my own psychic abilities?' :' (...) I also tell people not to second guess themselves so much. Be willing to be wrong as you learn how to “read” signs etc. better, how to interpret the otherside. We’re human, allow yourself to grow, if you place too many restraints on yourself you can’t grow because you’re too restricted. Breathe and be thankful to just be you knowing that alone is great thing. Also don’t let anyone define who you are, your actions will do that. A person who goes unchallenged in life wouldn’t be given the opportunity to show their ability for greatness.'

A medium awakes...
A quick look at what happened with 6 year old Allison Dubois, who was supposedly aware of her abilities. Unfortunately I haven't found any information about the day or even a month that was so crucial to the awakening. This doesn't stop me from looking at the most important progressions and transits that happened throughout this particular year of Allison's life. The horoscopes are set for the day of DuBois' 6th birthday.First are the progressions:
- progressive Mercury making a partile trine to natal Moon
- progressive Jupiter making a partile quincunx to natal Moon
- progressive Moon square the natal Moon-Saturn
- progressive Venus (Ascendant ruler) making a partile trine to natal Medium Coeli

'50 First Dates” was actually a different script. It was more of a drama, and it was called “50 First Kisses.” I knew about it, and I knew he knew it. In fact, I think it had drifted to his company [Happy Madison Productions], and it was something that I’d just been a big fan of for a long time and I loved the writing. I sat down at a typewriter, and I couldn’t stop crying while I was writing the letter because I had this swelling moment where I was so convinced that I knew what we were supposed to do next. I said, “It’s the script that you have and it’s called ’50 First Kisses.’ Here’s why I think we should turn this into our next movie.” Then he did a lot of writing on it and we made it into more of a comedy, and it is what it is. With this one, I reached out to him and said, “Okay, I think it’s time again!” And he was like, “Okay, I’ll go find something.” I said, “Yeah, you do that.” And then he called me months later and said he thought he’d found it.'

Suming it up
Moon-Saturn aspects are the perfect to blame every bad thing on, but do they deny the intuition? Allison DuBois and Drew Barrymore show that the answer is no. Did Saturn stop both of them from working with the intuition? No, in fact, the planet helped them by giving self-awareness, making their talents become real and make an tangible impact.I have to be honest, Moon-Saturn aspects are not a rose garden - every unpleasant description doesn't appear from nowhere.
