Among painful but very much needed experiences regarding our daily and vocational life of the last decade, the spotlight is put on how we understand the Capricorn's essence and its teachings for us.
Time for a summary.
In previous parts I have focused on Pluto's impact in the social arena. Now I'm gathering all the information together and explaining what - we - can expect from Pluto and Saturn in Capricorn. All in an easily digestible pill!
Enjoy the reading :-)
1. Rule's of the game
Events under Pluto's banner are governed by specific rules i.e. plutonic laws. One of the rules is as follows: "everything will be thrown out to the surface." If you have any problem that you can't cope with, you can be sure that with Pluto you will have the strength and the opportunity to dig into the most hidden matters and x-ray the most cunning intrigues ever aimed at you.
In time everything will surface. And the word time is crucial - Pluto in Capricorn helps us learn the patience/discipline necessary to wait until the mud attached to our life settles down and the water (that is our natural state of peace and balance) becomes clear again.
Until then, it is up to us to decide how to tackle the issues. Sometimes it can be difficult to face the difficulties and take responsibility for your own fate, particularly when it's easy to consequently deny, ignore the problem or put responsibility on something/someone else ("They do it to me all the time, why should I be different?"). Whatever you do, you will eventually become a new person. Rising or degrading.
2. An uphill ride
Regardless of the problems' complexity, we need to prepare for long-lasting digging in search of the heart of the issue and, above all, transformation. Capricorn symbolism is associated with managing even in extremely difficult conditions. To make matters worse, the so much desired transformation may prove to be difficult to access as it requires of us flawless discipline and a sober life outlook. And some useful skills.
Some things may be out of our reach because of e.g. work, scale of our duties, obligations or money requirements. We may not have the time to wait for long. At some stage we may have to give up something - doing so will make setting life priorities necessarily along with learning what we value the most.
The contact with authorities may prove to be a highly polarized experience. Having to rely on traditions, structures etc. will be no different in that manner. Very often we will be misunderstood by others (mainly those from older generations) who didn't have to confront the issues we do.
On one hand all previously hidden secrets and hidden motives of authorities/structures will be exposed - things we wouldn't even suspect them of. With Pluto in Capricorn we have to question everything we knew before and everything we thought was a solid foundation. On the other hand he will witness how various authorities are intentionally censored. Even our own authority can come under fire, become questioned and limited.
3. Fear
In order to break even the most ingrained patterns, one requires strong stimuli. Pluto in Capricorn's effect on us can be identified when we are struggling with fears regarding:
- the possibility of losing dignity and self-reliance;
- lacks of any shape/form e.g. having enough material security, perspectives for the future;
- being excluded from a specific work or social environment;
- failure (our own of that of others) to comply with rules, breaching previously agreed upon rules;
- restriction of freedom;
4. Being judged
Pluto's symbolism concerns death and in Capricorn's context we are dealing with a civil death. In its most extreme manifestations it is about the death of one's image/career path or a total lack of motivation ( even a practical option) to return to what was previously established. Particularly established by hard work. Capricorn limits everything it touches, including career opportunities.
But was it really the right path for us?
Other times Pluto in Capricorn will manifest as the court of public opinions. Just one (intentionally or not) disclosed information about us can make others form an opinion about us, place judgment and start being condescending. They can point out e.g. our poor origin environment.
Suddenly we see people pouring out emotions related to (their own) loneliness, pain or jealousy ... but their emotions are directed at us. This in turn makes us triggered, wanting to exact vengeance as we desire that proper consequences and justice are served.
We may feel betrayed by people who seemed to follow similar principles and standards (code of conduct) as we did. We can become a wrongly accused person. All this forces us to go through the transformation process.
5. Dependency
When Pluto in Capricorn touches one field of our life (symbolized by the house in the natal chart it currently visits), it is natural for an additional sphere of life to be emphasized - this time symbolized by the sign of Cancer.
If Cancer becomes activated (Pluto in Capricorn makes aspects to planets in Cancer), we are confronting a hard to swallow necessity of entering into dependencies. Capricorn likes to have the sense of being in control and now it has to suddenly depend on someone. The first thing it feels is how its life strips it off dignity and humiliates.
6. Transformation
Though it not be seen at first glance, Pluto does not herald changes we would not need ourselves. At these moments I always like to quote a statement: Pluto liberates us from what is impermanent. Far too often it is only that after emotions subside that we come to the conclusion that certain areas of our life were artificial - they have not served us for a long time.
Understanding this takes time - Pluto in Capricorn is a symbol of a slow-paced transformation, though capable of changing even the most rigid structure i.e. inherited patterns of behaviour. Capricorn is associated with a certain type of nihilism; among the fears about the future, perspectives etc. many wonder "Why even bother?". Facing such darkness and a depressive outlook is a part of the journey through the Capricorn's path.
With Pluto in Capricorn it is difficult to go through transformation; it's an arduous process that tests our discipline. The reward is worth it though, because we learn how to deal with adversity; we become a more complete Selves thanks to playing on this foreign, often times hostile (Capricorn) territory.
Those "hard won" lessons, abilities to search and reclaiming the Self nothing and no one can take away from us. Pluto in Capricorn indicates the possibility of gaining experience that helps us avoid potential manipulations in the future or avoid being shaped into someone are we not.
